Jeff Segelke, CHFC®
Jeff Segelke’s roots in the financial world were planted many years ago. It all began in California, where Jeff grew up. On his sixth birthday, Jeff’s dad set up a mutual fund in his son’s name and funded it with $100. Every following birthday and Christmas, when the grandparent checks rolled in, Jeff handed them over to his father to be put in the mutual fund. He was hooked … on saving. Jeff loved the feeling of investing his money for the future, and that was a good thing, because when college rolled around, Jeff was able to pay for it.
Using his well-leveraged mutual fund, Jeff attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in business and finance. He’s been working in the financial services industry since 1998, and today he is widely recognized as one of Utah’s leading financial counselors and educators. Jeff’s values-based financial strategies have helped thousands of clients make smart money choices, minimize tax liability, protect wealth and create legacies for their families. Since 2005, Jeff has been ranked among the top 1% of financial advisors nationwide based on Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College. One of the defining moments of Jeff’s career came early, just like the saving bug. After three successful years at a large financial services company, Jeff realized that he needed to be free to offer his clients the best options for their unique circumstances, rather than sell one company’s products. That’s when Segelke Financial Group (SFG) was born. Through SFG, Jeff is able to help his clients plan for their retirement using the best possible techniques and products that will help ensure their retirement income needs are met. He also assists his clients with many other financial planning needs, such as planning for children’s education funding, estate planning, tax reduction planning, risk management and business succession planning.
Jeff helps his clients reduce the risk they take in their retirement and savings plans, while seeking a reasonable long-term return. He uses several unique strategies to help people achieve their retirement dreams and have financial security.
Jeff might have started young in the financial world, but he has other interests, too. You might see him around town playing basketball, golf and tennis, or possibly in his season-ticket seats at the Utah Jazz. Jeff also believes deeply in giving back and supports the following charities: The Utah Food Bank, The Road Home, The Children’s Center, Deseret Industries and others.
You can listen to Jeff’s radio show, Safe Money Counselor Radio, every Saturday from 6-7pm on KNRS 105.7FM / 570AM
